Who is writing:
It's kind of easy to see that the people who are writing this document, (because it IS an agreement laid down by the settlers,) are the settlers. The long list of names basically includes who came up with the mayflower compact.
Who is the audience:
This would be the kind and leaders of england. since they're the one's that basically gave them the ok to go, they are the ones that the settlers are trying to reach, so they can have rights, and set up a mutual agreement, on how this whole "setting up a new town" is going to work.
Who do the writers represent:
The pilgrims who came over to the new land. They are the ones who need help. (or at least need some sort of rules.)
What is being said:
They are asking, (the pilgrims,) for rights to make laws, ordinances, acts, and such so they can come up with a system to control there new colony.
How is it being said:
It is being said in a serious tone, but it's also a happy tone, because they're it's a new world for them.
What proof:
They have witnesses to this document, and have subscribed or agreed to it. I.E. long list of names.
